Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):

2. Fuel tank
3. Left lower side cowling

Intake air temperature sensor resistance
Out of specification Replace
the throttle
body.
a. Connect the pocket tester ( ×
1k) to the
throttle body sensor assembly coupler as
shown.
Positive tester probe
brown/white "1"
Negative tester probe
gray/black ...
Removing the crankshaft
1. Remove:
Crankshaft "1"
NOTE:
Remove the crankshaft with the crankcase
separating tool "2".
Make sure the crankcase separating tool is
centered over the crankshaft.

1. Check:
Starter clutch rollers "1"
Starter clutch spring caps "2"
Starter clutch springs "3"
Damage/wear Replace the starter
clutch
assembly.
2. Check:

Burrs/chips/roughness/wear Replace the
defective part(s).
