Dirt Clean with 600 grit
sandpaper.
2. Measure:
Commutator diameter "a"
Out of specification Replace
the starter
motor.
3. Measure:
Mica undercut "a"

proper measurement with a hacksaw blade

Bearings
Oil seals
Bolts (unthreaded shaft portion only)
